The first Roman anthological exhibition of one of the most important painters of the Italian informal period traces the Spoleto artist's artistic evolution from the mid-1950s to the mid-2000s.

The exhibition wants to show the artistic experience of half a century of painting by an artist about whom some of the most important critics of his and our time have written, such as Francesco Arcangeli, Giulio Carlo Argan, Maurizio Calvesi, Giovanni Carandente, Flavio Caroli, Enrico Crispolti, Pierre Restany.

The exhibition follows a chronological development, with paintings from the Informal period (1955-1961), works and drawings produced between the mid-1960s and the end of the 1970s, and monochromes produced mainly between the 1990s and 2000.
Among the most significant paintings are the Paesaggio verde of 1955, which marks the beginning of the Informal period, Frontale of 1960, with which he won the 8th edition of the Spoleto Prize, Opéra Comique of 1964, which was presented at the XXXII Venice Art Biennial, and Aphia of 1978, which marked the start of his monochrome painting.

The exhibition also includes a number of works by Raspi's fellow informal artists, both Italian and international, brought together and presented by Galleria l'Attico in Rome. Among them is a 1959 sculpture by Leoncillo Taglio Grande.
Finally, five small-format works form an appendix to the exhibition, documenting, with sketches and projects, the large steel wall sculpture permanently installed in Spoleto at the Albornoz Palace Hotel in 2001.

The exhibition, promoted by Roma Culture, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali supported by the Archivio Raspi and sponsored by the Fondazione La Quadriennale di Roma, is organised by Marco Tonelli, Artistic Director of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Palazzo Collicola Spoleto.
